Strutting for worthy cause

The Annual Zen Gardens Fashion High Tea held on Saturday lived up to its billing as the fashion event of the year, with hundreds of celebrities, corporate chiefs and socialites getting a chance to sample the various menus and designs on offer.

Koroo, Njema Helena, Shenu Hooda and Suave were among scores of both local and international designers who showcased their unique collections during the event before selling some of them to impulse buyers who attended the event.

Delicacies

Guests were treated to a wide array of delicacies and drinks including Sushi and Maki on ice, oven baked pizzas, mini pies, Satay Skewers and bruschetta as well as classic tea sandwiches.

Proceeds from the event will go towards helping women in rural areas who suffer from pregnancy related complications.

The Fashion High Tea 2014 will support the First Lady’s Beyond Zero campaign.

Event organiser Shivani Radia explained: “We aim to give all our guests an absolutely unique experience , whilst raising money for special charities each year. We will be raising funds to purchase and deploy mobile clinics across the country to provide better prenatal, delivery and post-natal services to the underprivileged.”
