Woman kills self and two children over neglect by husband – VIDEO
A Kisumu mother turned into a monster on Monday, dousing herself and her two children with petrol and lighting a fire that killed them and also destroyed their house.
Twenty six year old Rukia Anyango is said to have felt neglected by her husband Mr Sheldon Wasuna who recently added a second wife.
Her husband works in Eldoret where he lives with his second wife.
“She should have just killed herself and spared the children,” her brother wailed when the Nation team arrived at the scene in Otonglo area.
BURN CHILDREN ALIVE
Rukia’s relatives and neighbours claimed that she had previously swore that she would burn the children alive should her husband continue mistreating her.
According to a neighbour, Rukia arrived home on Monday morning carrying a jerrycan full of petrol which she bought from a nearby filling station. was away.
“She was carrying the petrol, but at that time I didn’t quite tell what was in the jerrycan. She then called her two children to come inside the house then she locked it,” said the neighbour speaking in confidence.
What the neighbour witnessed next was bright light seen through the windows and smoke bellowing from the house.
LOCKED FROM INSIDE
She raised alarm but there was little they could do to help the children. The house had been locked from inside and windows had grills.
Nothing was salvaged from the burning house as neighbours watched in horror.
“The husband already married a second wife and they have a year-old child in their house in Eldoret. This seems to have angered her because she was told the new wife would be brought to replace her in the Kisumu house this December,” said one of Rukia’s sister-in-law.
