Woman crying out for justice as men who she claims defiled her daughter walk free

A woman whose underage daughter was allegedly defiled by people known to her is crying out for justice after the police reportedly frustrated her.

The woman says the incident took place at her late grandmother’s house in Karen but her efforts to seek justice have hit the wall with the police seemingly indifferent to her plight.

THE PERPETRATORS

“This incident took place last month, my daughter then reported to her aunt about the rape. The perpetrators were her aunt’s son and friends, the aunt then assaulted her physically, which made my daughter seek refuge in the servants’ quarters,” the woman said in a Facebook post.

She says the aunt later sent an uncle to pick the minor from Karen and take her back to the mother.

When the girl arrived home, she narrated her ordeal to her mother who decided to report the matter at Athi River Police Station.

The aggrieved woman claims that the officers at Athi River Police station referred her to Karen Police Station because the incident happened within their jurisdiction.

The matter was reported under OB number 41/27/5/2020 at Karen Police Station.

“I filled a P3 form and took a medical report from Nairobi Women’s Hospital, Kitengela,” the mother said.

SUSPECTS WALKING FREE

She was then sent with officers from Karen Police Station to make arrests, but this never happened.

The woman was later asked to look for witnesses by the police, and despite her doing so, the suspects are still walking free.

She then went to the office of Nairobi County Deputy Commander who advised her to go and seek help at Lang’ata Police Station.

She says she wrote a letter to the office of Director of Public Prosecution seeking advice on the same, but she is still waiting for a response.

However, Lang’ata police boss Gregory Mutiso said that the police are keenly following the matter.

“There is more than it just meets the eye, and the truth will soon be out as the police are following the matter up. That is all I can say now, but we are investigating the matter,” he said.
