Wanyama spoils Sevens rugby team with surprise Sh260k gift – VIDEO

Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama on Friday paid a courtesy call to Kenyan Sevens rugby players in London and gave them a £2,000 pounds (estimated Sh260,000) morale booster.

A video of the meeting shows a jolly looking Wanyama giving a motivational talk to his compatriots at their London hotel on Friday.

He lifted their spirits by narrating how the national Sevens rugby team’s victory at the Singapore leg of the IRB Series last season offered him an opportunity to brag to his Tottenham Hotspurs teammates.

Shujaa are preparing for the London leg of the series where the Andrew Amonde captained side will face South Africa, USA and Wales at Twickenham on Saturday.

BRAGGING RIGHTS

Wanyama urged the team to pull on all stops and secure victory in the London leg to ensure he maintains the bragging rights.

“After that victory in Singapore, I had to brag to my teammates because they are always saying we (Kenyans) can’t play football and other sports. We can only run,” a smiling Wanyama explained.

“That’s why I am urging you to be confident that you can pick the result in London, believe in yourselves and get the job done,” urged Wanyama.
