Wanga: Stewart Hall will make it as AFC Leopards coach

Kenya international Allan Wanga has congratulated new AFC Leopards coach Stewart Hall following his appointment on Wednesday.

Hall has been handed a two-year contract at Leopards, replacing Belgian Ivan Minnaert who was sacked a month back following a spate of poor results.

The Briton makes a return to the Kenyan Premier League following his earlier spell at Sofapaka.

He will also most likely be coming up against Tusker FCs Wanga during domestic engagements, a player he signed and coached for a season during the duo’s tenure at Tanzania’s Azam FC last season.

GOTV SHIELD FINAL

“I respect Stewart. He gave me an opportunity at Azam under different circumstances. There were seven foreign players on trial at the club that time and he had the opportunity to sign only one. He chose me,” Wanga told Nairobi News.

“That said, he is a very good and understanding coach and he is gonna make it at Leopards if accorded the full support. The fans should be patient and back him,” Wanga added.

Hall is expected to arrive in Nairobi on October 26, and formally commence his coaching role at the club from November 1.

Meanwhile, Wanga who has scored seven goals in 12 appearances for Tusker during the second half of the season, is expected to lead the brewers attack in the GOtv Shield final against Ulinzi Stars on Sunday.
