Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu on Monday filed an application at the Supreme Court seeking a review of the judgement that upheld the election of Dr Evans Kidero as Nairobi governor.

Through lawyer Harison Kinyanjui, Mr Waititu claims that corruption allegations against Supreme Court Judge Philip Tunoi has put to doubt the integrity of the judgement that was delivered on August 29, 2014.

Mr Waititu’c application comes in the wake of claims that Dr Kidero had bribed Justice Philip Tunoi with Sh200 million to rule in his favour, claims that the governor has denied.

The claims were made in an affidavit by journalist Geoffrey Kiplagat who allegedly brokered the deal.

In his application, Mr Waititu has sued Dr Kidero, Jonathan Mueke, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), IEBC chairmanIsaac Hassan, Nairobi County Returning Officer, Attorney General, DCIO Gigiri and Kayole as well as the Inspector General of Police.
