Ferdinand Waititu was never a civil servant – PSC
Public Service Commission (PSC), has dismissed claims that it employed Kabete MP, Ferdinand Waititu in 1989.
Mr Waititu had claimed that he was employed by the commission after completing studies at the University of Punjab, India, where he claims he got a degree in 1988.
The fresh twist emerged on new evidence submitted in court by Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo, in an effort to prove his claim that the MP has no university degree.
BROTHER’S NAME
Through his lawyer, Issa Mansur, Mr Kabogo claims Mr Waititu used his brother’s name Clifford Waititu, in documents that he claims to be his own.
In a letter to Mr Mansur, the secretary of the PSC, Ms Alice Otwala, says the commission does not have any records showing the MP was its employee.
Among the documents he submitted as new evidence is a letter from the University of Punjab that says Waititu never studied at the university.
“The name of Ferdinand Waititu is not in our records of students who studied a degree in the subject of commerce between 1985-86 and 1987-88.”
However, the university says there it had a student by the name Clifford Ndung’u Waititu, who studied commerce between 1985-86, 1986-87 and 1987-88.
In the General Election of 2013, Mr Waititu said he studied at the university, using the name Clifford Ndung’u Waititu.

In his case, Mr Kabogo says he studied at the same university but did not see Mr Waititu.
In his new evidence, the governor attached a letter from the PSC and copies of birth certificates of Waititu’s brother and mother to prove his claim.
“What this court is requested to determine is whether the defendant attended university and graduated with a degree in the subject of commerce using the name of Clifford Ndung’u Waititu. So, I could not submit a fake certificate as alleged, ” says Mr Kabogo.
Mr Kabogo claimed Mr Waititu tried to change his life to earn the name Clifford Ndung’u Waititu who legally, it is a different person.
