Vigil for Garissa victims slated for Tuesday at Uhuru Park

Kenyans will converge in Nairobi on Tuesday evening for a four-hour vigil to mourn the Kenyans who lost their lives in the Garissa terrorist attack.

The event, dubbed #147NotJustaNumber Vigil, will take place Freedom Corner at Nairobi’s Uhuru Park between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.

It is convened by political activist Boniface Mwangi.

“Bring flowers. Bring handwritten messages, we will have a board to pin them. Carry an umbrella. Dress warmly, black if possible. Park your car at All Saints Cathedral or the parking near Uhuru Park main dais. Security will be provided,” said Mwangi.

The event will honour the 148 Kenyans who were cruelly massacred last week at the Garissa University by Al Shabaab terrorists. Body identification process is still on going at the Chiromo Mortuary in Nairobi.
