Art for change: The inspiring story of Mukuru Art Club Studio
Born and raised in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, Adam Massava developed a love for the fine arts at a tender age.
Growing up in a slum, Adam had seen the drug abuse and the crime first-hand. Most of the peers he grew up with were either in prison serving long sentences, or killed by the police because of their criminal activities.
In 2010, he started Mukuru Art Club Studio to teach art to the youth in the slum as a way of giving back to the community. Within no time, the estates around South B learned about his program and started bringing their children as well.
