Victoria Kimani wins best female East Africa award at Afrimma
Kenyan musician Victoria Kimani beat an impressive lineup to win the Best Female East Africa Award in the just concluded African Music Magazine Awards (Afrimma).
The event in its fourth season was held at the House of Blues in Dallas Texas over the weekend.
Other big winners of the night included, Tanzanian singer Diamond Platinumz who won the Best Male East Africa and Artiste of the Year Awards.
Nigerian Tiwa Savage clinched the Best Female West Africa award, beating fellow female crooner Yemi Alade who was also nominated in the same category.
“God is Good Kenya. This one is for all the Women in Africa who work hard for little or nothing and take no shortcuts! With Respect honour, talent & Grace,” posted Victoria Kimani on her Instagram page.
AFRIMMA is the sole award ceremony in diaspora that caters for all African musical genres including, but not limited to, Afrobeats, Assiko, Bongo, Decale, Funana, Genge, Highlife, Kwaito, Lingala and Soukous.
