Varsity student clobbered for kissing love of his life speaks out

When Alloys Mwangi fell in love with First Year student Monica Mukami in January, he never expected the relationship to spark a social media frenzy that would attract the attention of Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Since the start of the second semester when Alloys set eyes on Monica, the two students at Technical University in Mombasa were a couple to envy. Unbeknownst to them, a student who Monica had allegedly dated in first semester had other plans.

Alloys told Nairobi News that all was well until one day the alleged ex-boyfriend, identified as Allan Cedric, found them kissing.

THINGS TURN NASTY

“That is when things turned nasty and a plan to fight me over her started,” Alloys, a second year student pursuing a Diploma in Medical Engineering, told Nairobi News.

Allan Cedric reportedly mobilised his two friends into his plan. They stormed into Alloys’s room, locked it and started assaulting him.

“They shaved me, beat me up and forced me to swear that I will never ever talk to the girl again,” he said.

As they beat him up, one of them was recording a video that has since gone viral on social media.

The DCI on Wednesday morning asked Alloys to report the matter at the nearest police station and share the OB number with them.

Nairobi News has learnt that the matter was reported at Makupa Police Station in Mombasa under OB number 32 March 12, 2019.

EVIDENCE

He said that he was asked to visit a hospital and present a doctor’s report that will also be used as evidence against his colleagues.

“I have already visited the hospital as the police directed. The university (administration) has also taken up the matter,” he said, adding that he hope justice will prevail.

Nairobi News has established that the three suspects are at large. The university’s administration has suspended them and ordered them to present themselves to a disciplinary committee.
