Uhuru to Raila: We’re not ‘vifaranga vya computer’

President Uhuru Kenyatta has responded to remarks by opposition leader Mr Raila Odinga that described Jubilee’s win as “computer generated”.

The president, in a sworn affidavit, said his re-election was an endorsement by Kenyans.

“The Deputy President and I are not computer generated leaders (vifaranga vya computer). The electoral victory was effected by the Kenyan voters,” he said.

The affidavit has been filed in court to as a response to Nasa’s election petition that is opposing President Kenyatta’s re-election.

Mr Kenyatta also denied claims by  Mr Odinga that he used state resources and mobilised civil servants to campaign for his re-election.

He argued that his win is based on his development record and an inclusive government.

Mr Odinga coined the ‘vifaranga vya computer’ phrase at a press conference where the Nasa coalition announced that it will head to the Supreme Court to challenge the presidential results.

He said that President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are “vifaranga vya kompuyuta, waliochaguliwa na kompyuta…(The President and his Deputy are computer generated leaders)”.
