Uhuru ‘beats’ Raila in Alai commissioned poll

An online opinion poll conducted by blogger Robert Alai shows President Uhuru Kenyatta way ahead of his political opponent Raila Odinga.

According to provisional results which were tallied on Alai’s Facebook page in real time, Kenyatta had garnered 8,841 to Odinga’s 5,275, approximately an hour after the voting started.

Those who participated in this poll were required to choose between “Uhuru” and “Raila” by typing either of the names on the comment section of the page.

Alai had asked the question “Who will you vote for as President in August? Raila or Uhuru?”

President Kenyatta is Jubilee Party’s candidate and is set to face Odinga who was last week nominated as the opposition National Super Alliance (Nasa) flag bearer in what analysts have predicted as a tight contest.

We could not however determine either the scientific accuracy of this poll or the reliability of the software application used to count the votes.

The poll was also marred by complaints over its credibility.
