Video: Uhuru and son walk from State House for dance next door

President Uhuru Kenyatta last Sunday strolled out of State House, Nairobi and made an impromptu visit to the Permanent Presidential Music Commission offices where choirs were rehearsing to entertain US President Barack Obama.

Never-seen before footage shows President Kenyatta taking the short walk accompanied by his son Muhoho Kenyatta with a security detail of about 20 men in tow.

He caught the teams unawares sending them into a frenzy.

The facility is situated next to State House Girls just a stone’s throw from State House.

The President met the choir members after visiting the Westgate Mall which had reopened a day before.

At the end of the 10-minute stint, the head of state openly promised leading music composer Mwalimu Thomas Wesonga (who led the rehearsals) that he would send “some chai” for the choir members to enjoy.

Mwalimu wacha nirudi nitumane chai hawa wakunyue. Mungu awabariki,” said President Kenyatta amid ululation from the choir members.

Dressed in unusual casual attire, the President danced, sang and mingled with the artists as he gave them handshakes.

He also took pictures and selfies with the choir members who number about 6o.

Leading Music Composer Mwalimu Thomas Wesonga conducted the rehearsals and chatted with the President.

The teams at the venue are rehearsing to entertain President Obama during his visit that kicks off on Friday.
