Did Ugandan federation ‘bribe’ delegates with ‘dream’ trip to Kenya?

Senior Uganda football administrators are facing scrutiny in their backyard for reportedly enticing a number of delegates with a “dream” trip to Kenya.

Nairobi News has reliably established the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) facilitated a bus full of football administrators to travel through the estimated 1200km road trip between Kampala and Machakos, last week, to specifically watch Thursday’s international friendly match pitting Harambee Stars against Uganda Cranes.

The delegates, who came in their dozens, were in the stands at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos when Kenya drew 1-1 with Uganda.

ALLOWANCES

The officials were also put up in a classy four star hotel within Machakos County and also offered some allowances to sample the night life in Nairobi and Machakos, a move critics suggest is meant to woo them ahead of the country’s football elections in September.

“You know some of them have never been to Nairobi and so they were very excited to come and visit, and watch the Cranes play. I am sure they were enticed with allowances,” a reliable source told Nairobi News.

Current Fufa president Moses Magogo is likely to face competition from the deep pocketed Lawrence Mulindwa, a former president of the federation, during the forthcoming polls that are expected to be tightly contested.
