Two suspected gangsters shot dead in botched robbery
Two suspected gangsters were on Monday morning shot dead by detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Migori county.
According to DCI the gang of six had planned to carry out a robbery at Allaxis Hotel located along the Migori-Rongo road.
The rest of the suspects escaped with gunshot wounds. One detective was also shot on his right shoulder in the shootout.
“A DCI detective was also shot on the right shoulder and is currently receiving treatment,” the DCI said in a statement.
One AK 47 rifle loaded with 16 rounds of ammunition, a torch, a rungu were some of the items recovered at the scene.
According to the DCI, a manhunt has been launched for the suspects who are on the run.
