A man and a woman were murdered in cold blood when armed gangsters raided a mobile money transfer agency on Tuesday night in Njiru, Nairobi.

While confirming the incident, Deputy Police spokesperson Jared Ojuok said that the victims were an M-PESA agent and a butchery attendant.

According to the senior police officer, the M-PESA agent, Ms Esther Nyaguthii, 30, was at her shop when three armed robbers stormed the business premises and demanded for money before shooting her on the left side of her neck killing her instantly.

The butchery attendant, John Ndeto Kioko, 20, on his part was hit by a bullet when he rushed out to see what was happening after hearing the gunshots. The victims were rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.

The culprits are still at large although the police say they recovered their fingerprints at the scene of crime.
