Two gym receptionists in court for stealing Sh1.4 million from their employer
Two receptionists at a gym in Pumwani area in Nairobi were Monday charged with stealing more than Sh 1.4 million from their employer.
The two, Emily Achieng India and Priscah Nthoki Musembi, allegedly stole Sh 1,496,240 from Mohamed Mukhtar, who owns the fitness centre on diverse dates between January and September this year.
They are accused of stealing the money by failure to drop the levies collected from clients into the cash box, fraudulent diversion of funds and falsification of records.
The two denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Steve Jalang’o of the Makandara Law Courts.
They were released on a Sh 200,000 cash bail each. Hearing of the case starts February next year.
