Two grenades netted in overnight swoop in Eastleigh

Two hand grenades were found at a couple’s house and 400 people arrested in Eastleigh on Tuesday in an overnight swoop.

The elderly couple was picked up from Medina Apartments and will be taken to court to be charged with aiding terrorists.

The arrests in the swoop brings the total number of those arrested since Monday’s twin terror attacks to more than 1000.

Police had on Monday night arrested more than 600 suspects in the area after the terror attacks that left six people dead.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku said the operation will continue until the perpetrators are brought to book.

He urged members of public to cooperate with security personnel and give all information required to assist in the operation.

The Monday night attack saw two explosions occur in food kiosks as people watched the 7 o’clock news.
