TV queen Nana had a premonition of her death

“Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting ‘HOLY CRAP!!!! WHAT A RIIIDEE…!.

That is what Ms Kanana Gichuru posted on Facebook page 10 days ago, a giveaway to the premonition she may have had on her death.

Nana, as she was popular known to her friends, was free spirited, lived on the fast lane and loved to drive very fast. She even had a fast car to match her wild taste.

She got married last year and her wedding anniversary was set for next month. She was recently admitted at a South African hospital over a suspected breathing problem.

On Tuesday morning, the car she was driving rammed a truck at Utawala on the Eastern bypass, dying on the spot. Pictures of the badly mangled wreckage were then widely shared online.

Friends and colleague started revealing her real identity; an actress, an employee of an airline, a photographer, a singer and a blogger, all combined into an effervescent personality.

Her death torched off a trending hashtag #RIPNanaGichuru. Kenyans posted condolence messages. Those who knew her shared memorable photographs and videos.

Many praised her outgoing character. Few however mentioned that she died from careless driving, or that her death was avoidable.
