Troubled Gor to unveil medical insurance sponsor

Gor Mahia will officially unveil their medical insurance partnership with Chase Bank on Tuesday.

The event will take place at City Stadium starting 10.00am.

The deal under the bank’s Chase Assurance body will see Gor Mahia players, the technical bench and their families’ benefit from a renewable 15 million shillings kitty over a period of one year.

The deal with Chase Assurance becomes the first ever medical insurance deal in the club’s history.

The negotiations have been going on since February and the agreement will see 30 playing unit members, 7 technical bench staff and upto 3 members of their dependents covered.

The club will also use the event to launch a countrywide membership recruitment drive with the aim of sourcing for more funds.

This initiative targets 100, 000 club members who will be expected to pay a Shs1, 000 annual fee.

The members will in turn get branded membership cards, which will later be upgraded to bank debit/visa card when the system goes full digital.

“Making our supporters an integral part of taking the club to the next level has been a key goal for the executive and tomorrow (Tuesday) will mark the beginning of it all,” said the club’s deputy secretary general Anima Oketch.
