Another top presenter leaves Classic 105 for embassy job

Renowned media personality Larry Asego could be on the verge of quitting the industry altogether in the wake of his resignation as radio presenter at Classic FM.

Asego confirmed his departure from the station via his official social media page on Thursday.

Ironically, he announced his resignation on the same day he also toasted to a decade of working as a radio presenter, a stint that commenced at Kiss FM.

Nairobi News understands this resignation could mark a goodbye for Asego on the entertainment scene considering that the personality, who is eloquent in French, has secured himself a well paying job at the French Embassy in Nairobi.

RHUMBA TRACKS

Asego, who curved a unique reputation for playing countless Rhumba tracks whilst translating the lyrics to his mostly urbanised audience, is also a renowned Master of Ceremony.

He has been spotted emceeing at a number of high profile events sponsored by the likes of Safaricom, Guinness  and Supersport.

Asego’s departure from the Radio Africa Group owned station leaves a huge gap, coming barely six months after the resignation of another high profile presenter in the name of Nick Odhiambo aka Professor Bamba.

Asego was considered the third biggest brand at the station after morning show presenter Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King’ang’i.
