Top Kenyan musicians skip crucial meeting


Some of Kenya’s top musicians snubbed a crucial meeting that brought together their peers at the Sarakasi Dome in Nairobi on Tuesday afternoon.

The artistes who skipped the meeting organised by the newly formed Music Industry Association of Kenya (MIAKE) included Jaguar, Wyre, Jua Cali, Nazizi, Redsan, Mustafa, Amani, Daddy Owen, Rufftone, Ringtone, among others.

The meeting was held to discuss the current situation of the Kenya music industry, the way forward, among other things.

Other issues discussed included the Music Copyright Society of Kenya’s constitution and its upcoming board elections.

Some of the artistes who attended included Nameless, Juliani, Nonini, Wahu, Muthoni the Drummer Queen, Lady B, Fundi Frank, Rabbit, P Unit, among others. The meeting started at about 3pm and ended at 6pm.

The chairman of the new outfit is TV producer Arthur K.
