Tony Mochama launches book
Tony Mochama launched his latest book on Wednesday titled Nairobi: A Night Guide Through the City In The Sun at Arfa Lounge.
Book lovers and fellow authors filled the room to capacity with opening speeches from Nina Wichmann from the Goethe Institut, author Stephen Derwnt Partington among others.
“It is a great honour to be here and I’m glad to see Tony keeping the great Kenyan tradition of writing. Over the years we have seen more individuals establishing themselves as writers and coming out, just the way Binyavanga came out very strongly,” said Partington.
“The books talks about the city in the eyes of a night runner, and how night life has changed from the 90s to date. “The book is full of memories — some mine and others of my friends — and what Nairobi has become at night.
It has been a long time coming and I am glad that some of my dearest friends are here to celebrate with me,” Tony said.
His other publications include What if I’m a Literary Gangster? and The Road to Eldoret.
