Terminally ill cancer patient arrives in Mecca for Hajj

A 23-year-old terminally ill cancer patient, whose heartrending story has moved many Kenyans, has arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday for a much-desired Hajj (Islamic pilgrimage).

Before leaving the country on Monday, Abdiaziz Aden, who has been diagnosed with Osteogenic sarcoma (cancer of the bone), took time to seek and grant forgiveness for those he had wronged and those who had wronged him.

Aden’s trip to Saudi Arabia was made possible after well-wishers responded to his appeal by raising money for him to get a visa for the journey.

His posts on Facebook about his journey to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj have been met with numerous goodwill messages of hope and encouragement.

Among those who saw him off as he left for Saudi Arabia was Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, family members and friends.
