Teenager on the run after stabbing friend to death in city centre

A teenager was on Sunday evening stabbed to death by his friend in the city centre.

Imar Kahua, 18, stabbed Brian Irungu Aswan, 19, to death at the Kampala Coach bus stage at 5:30pm.

The two are said to have picked up a quarrel along Duruma Road before Imar stabbed Brian.

Police have launched a search for Imar who fled the scene after murdering his friend.

George Gitonga, a student at Mount Zion Secondary School, told police that the quarrel involved the three teenagers before Imar turned to Brian with a knife.

“The scene was visited and it was established that the deceased had visible stab wounds on the back of the neck and left back ribs. The scene was photographed and body moved to city mortuary pending postmortem,” read a police report.

HALF NAKED BODY

Elsewhere, a half naked, bruised body of an unidentified woman was found lying on the roadside near Mwalimu Motors on Muranga Road  by a passerby.

The man notified police at Parklands police station on Sunday mid-morning after he found the body while riding a bicycle to Ngara.

Police rushed to the scene and discovered that the dead woman had minor injuries on her feet and arms.

The woman had no identification documents and police estimated her to be aged between 28 and 30.

The body was taken to city mortuary pending autopsy and identification.
