Why Tedd Josiah is quitting his music production career

Veteran Kenyan music producer, Tedd Josiah, has announced that he is quitting the music industry to pursue the dreams of his late wife Reginah Muthoni.

Josiah, who recently revealed that he does not plan to date or remarry following the untimely death of his beloved wife last October, has said he is now venturing into production of African luxury leather bags.

The renowned producer’s bags line will be known as Jokajok.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Josiah said that his new occupation will not be a side hustle, but a full time job to earn an income to feed his baby Wendo.

GREAT DESIGNER

He also said he hopes to create employment opportunities for other Kenyans.

“Comes a time you just feel your purpose change and your direction shift. I had to give up a very good gig for this because my soul just spoke loudly and I couldn’t let the thought go,” the 48-year-old wrote.

In the post, Josiah also revealed that three days before his wife passed on, she announced she would be going back into her fashion business.

He described his late wife as a great designer and had an eye for style.

MUSIC CAREER

His late wife, who was 26 years old when she passed on, left behind a baby girl named Jameela Wendo (Jay Jay), who is now one year and four months old.

Josiah started out as a musician back in the early 1990s. He was briefly part of the group Ebony Affair before forming a new group, Hart in 1993.

The group was disbanded in 1995 and Josiah joined Sync Sound Studios as a producer.

It is after becoming a music producer that his career truly flourished.

He is rightfully credited with shaping the careers of many local celebrities including Wyre, Nameless, Kalamashaka among many others.
