Talanta enters into partnership with Swedish side

Football Kenya League side, Talanta FC has entered into a partnership with Swedish Fourth Division side Gottne FC.

The Swedish side last week sent their coaches to work with their counterparts at Talanta beginning this week as part of the collaboration programme that will ultimately see players from the Kenyan side drafted to join the European club.

The coaches arrived in Nairobi last Friday and attended league match between Talanta and Zoo Kericho at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani on Saturday.

Talanta, sponsored by the Communications Authority of Kenya are participating in the FKF League.

TEAM’S PERFORMANCE

Although they lost the match against Zoo by a solitary goal, the Swedish coaches were impressed by the performance of the youthful side.

“We are in partnership with them (Gottne FC). They will be coming to foster that partnership and there is a possibility of at least two players joining the Swedish side in April,” Talanta head coach Michael Nam said

The Gottne officials are coach Roger Dannberg, trainer Sandra Svennsson, Mats Falck and Jens Lindahl, both directors of the club.

According to Nam, his technical bench in collocation with Gottne officials was to conduct a joint training session for his Talanta on Tuesday.

Talanta are seeking to join the Kenyan Premier League, just three years after it’s formation.
