SWV, Blackstreet offer double treat for Kenyan fans

American groups SWV and Blackstreet have promised a nostalgic show for lovers of their music when they perform on Saturday night at the KICC, Nairobi.

During a press briefing after their arrival in the country on Thursday night, one of the founding members of Blackstreet said they feel at home in Kenya than in the US.

“We are here to give you the very best from what we have been doing since we began singing and to tell you the truth, we feel really at home here,” said Chauncey “Black” Hannibal.

The group is known for hits such as Don’t Leave Me, No Diggity, Before I Let You Go and enjoyed great success in the 90s.

Kenyan fans will also have the pleasure of welcoming R&B music sensational trio the SWV (Sisters With Voices) who will join their brothers on stage to give a lifetime performance.

OLD SKOOL MUSIC

The two groups should blend easily given that both groups have worked closely with Teddy Riley and a single together Tonight’s The Night, which they promised to perform together.

“You will get authentic old skool music from us as you know it,” said the sassy Tamara Johnson, who had everyone focused on her because of her warmth and an infectious smile.

SWV are remembered for mega-hits such as Right Here, Weak, and You’re the One. The group has sold over 25 million records from over 10 albums.

The entry fees will be Sh5,000 for general admission while tickets for early bookings are retailing at Sh3,000.

VIP tickets retail at Sh15,000 inclusive of bitings, a special Valentine’s Day gift, and refreshment vouchers whereas VVIP tickets will go for Sh25,000 with a 3-course dinner, a bottle of wine, refreshment voucher and a gift hamper.
