Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Friday made a timely contribution of Sh1.5 million to the family of the late Mama Mary Auma Oliech whose burial date has finally been set.

The amount included a personal donation from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mama Oliech, who was the mother to former Harambee Stars captain, Dennis Oliech, passed on at her home in Nairobi on July 20.

Her other children are Ken and Andrew Oyombe who also are former professional footballers, Nixon – a businessman who also worked as Dennis manager during his playing career – and Elsie.

BURIAL DATE

The deceased businesswoman owned a string of restaurants and commercial buildings in Nairobi and Kisumu.

Her death came just days after Governor Sonko had appointed Dennis to serve in the Sports Ministry in the city’s county government.

Meanwhile, the deceased will be laid to rest at her native Kisumu County on August 11, family sources have told Nairobi News.
