Sofapaka players boycott training over unpaid allowances

Sofapaka FC players have insisted that they will not resume training unless their allowances are paid.

The players continued with their sit-in on Wednesday morning during training at the Eastleigh High School.

“We are yet to be paid our allowances for winning the Charity Cup tournament as well as part of the January salaries,” said one of the players who did not wish to be named.

However an official at the club told Nairobi News that the matter will be resolved soon and the players will be paid all their allowances.

“I know the club president Elly Kalekwa is working hard to ensure the players received their allowances so that they can continue playing football as normal,” the official said.

The 2009 Kenyan Premier League Champions started the 2014 by winning the Kenya Power Charity Cup and followed with a 5-1 league win over hosts, Muhoroni Sugar last Saturday.
