Did Muhoroni Youth boss Adagala shortchange Gor Mahia?
Muhoroni Youth chairman Moses Adagala is again hogging headlines for all the wrong reasons.
He is facing allegations of short changing Gor Mahia over terms and conditions of a pre-season friendly match between the two teams last weekend.
Gor coasted to a 4-1 victory in the well attended contest staged at the Muhoroni grounds, with new signing Kenneth Muguna scoring one of the goals.
The former Kenyan champions were however on the losing side after the match, as the club’s organising secretary Judith Nyangi now claims via social media.
Ms Nyangi claims that Mr Adagala failed to meet his side of the bargain on the facilitation front.
“He promised to cater for transport and accommodation, plus other amenities such as the players allowances. He didn’t keep his word. As a matter of fact, he disappeared after the match and switched off his phone,” Ms Nyangi claims.
Nyangi also suggested that the Muhoroni chairman, who was not available for comment, could have used the match to rake in millions of shillings through gate collections and to popularise his bid to get elected in the forthcoming general elections.
This is not the first Mr Adagala is courting controversy.
He has in the past been involved in running battles with his own players after failing to pay their salaries.
Football Kenya Federation has since refused to offer Muhoroni a licence to compete in the Kenyan Premier league owing to the financial impropriety, a decision Mr Adagala is challenging at the Sports Tribunal.
