Why miffed Migne wants Wanyama, Oluoch, Blackberry suspended

When Harambee Stars coach Sebastien Migne went on a two-minute rant moments after masterminding a 1-0 win over Ghana on Saturday in Kasarani, he was very clear on what he wanted done to a trio of players who snubbed his call for national duty.

During the post-match press conference, the Frenchman minced no words as he further blasted the government for allowing Cameroon to train at Kasarani at his team’s expense.

He also asked the Football Kenya Federation to petition FIfa to suspend three players who did not turn up for national team duty despite being called up.

The three players in question are captain Victor Wanyama, George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo and Boniface Oluoch.

The coach was clear on what action he wants taken particularly on Odhiambo.

“I can speak about Blackberry for example. In France two days ago when Jean-Kevin (Augustin) who turns out for Leipzig, rejected the Under-21 call up, they asked Fifa to give him a suspension,” Migne said.

HARSHEST CRITICISM

As for Wanyama, who snubbed national duty due to injury, the coach said:

“Hugo Lloris, a World Champion with France, is playing for Tottenham but was in Paris to check with the national team doctor if his injury was true or not. I have full confidence with Victor (Wanyama) but if we want to achieve high level we need to improve a lot of things.”

However, he reserved his harshest criticism for Gor Mahia goalkeeper Oluoch who is said to have stayed out of the team without offering any explanations.

“I do not want to speak about Boni (Oluoch), but I think it is a lack of respect.”

Not done, Migne, who refused to take questions from journalists during the press conference, also hinted that he could throw in the towel.

“I want to keep calm, quiet but I need to think about the future,” said Migne, even as he praised his players for doing a ‘good job under difficult circumstances.’
