Liverpool fans show love to Divock Origi
Belgian striker with Kenyan roots, Divock Origi, is fast assuming hero status among Liverpool FC fans.
This follows a string of impressive performances by the 20 year old player, more recently during Liverpool’s dramatic 4-3 win over German side Borussia Dortmund in a Europa League quarter final match this past week.
With Liverpool trailing 2-0 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate, Origi set the Red’s sensational fightback in motion with a goal early in the second half.
This was his fourth goal for his club month. The goals, and overall performances have inevitably endeared Origi to the Anfield faithful.
After the clash against Dortmund, tens of Liverpool fans, – who have been lucky enough to watch live some of the best footballing talents of our time including Steven Gerrard, Fernando Morientes, Xabi Alonso and Luis Suarez – showed the appreciation to Origi by displaying a banner with a message on the streets of Liverpool.
The message in the banner read:
“Football without Origi is nothing” through the Liverpool streets.
Origi hails from a famous football family. He is son of former Kenya international Mike Okoth and a nephew to former Kenya and Gor Mahia captain Austin Odour.
