Leopards’ new coach arrives, alongside sassy partner

AFC Leopards’ assistant coach Marko Vasiljevic arrived in the country on Saturday alongside his partner Marianne.

Vasiljevic and his better half were received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Leopards Executive Committee member Saul Shyder.

“The fact that the coach is here with his partner shows he is serious about settling here,” Shyder told Nairobi News.

FIRST ASSIGNMENT

The Serbian will handle the team in the absence of Nikola Kavazovic whose future at the club is uncertain with consistent media reports linking him with a move to South Africa.

Vasiljevic’s first assignment is Sunday’s Kenyan Premier League season opener against on form Kariobangi Sharks at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

KAVAZOVIC’S EXIT

Kavazovic, who formerly coached Botswana’s Township Rollers, signed a two year deal with Ingwe in November.

Last week he left the country reportedly to attend to personal matters back home even though Nairobi News has since reliably established that he had fallen out with a section of the management.

Whether or not he intends to return to club is still not clear.
