Kenyan footballer Miheso ‘fine’ after gun drama at South African club

Harambee Stars forward Cliffton Miheso has issued an assurance that “he is well” in the wake of reports that he was forced by South Africa football officials to sign his release letter from Golden Arrows at gun point.

Miheso said on Twitter on Saturday evening; “I’m well guys! Thanks everyone for the concern, your support is greatly appreciated. We move on. The future is more important than the past”

SUMMONED TO OFFICE

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the attacker, who has been based in South Africa’s top flight league for the past six months, had claimed a senior club official summoned him to his office and ordered him to sign documents indicating he was willingly terminating his two year contract.

The Harambee Stars player claims to have refused the offer leading to the drama.

Apparently, the club official immediately left the office, and soon after, two people came in with guns pointing at the Kakamega High School alumnus.

‘SAVE HIS LIFE’

Shaken stiff, the player claims to have signed the papers so as “to save his life”.

This is the second time in less than a year that a Kenyan player is quitting the lucrative South African league in controversial conditions.

The other player, Kevin Kimani, went on to file a case against Jomo Cosmos claiming that he was dropped from the team after refusing to attend a witchcraft ritual performed under the club’s supervision in a bush in the middle of the night.
