Kenya Sevens lost 47-0 to US and everyone is heartbroken

Kenyans suffered a collective heartbreak on Saturday after the national rugby sevens team was thrashed 47-0 by the United States during the London Sevens.

This was the second loss for Shujaa in as many hours after they were earlier defeated 12-10 by South Africa.

The humiliation by US was further compounded by the fact that the Americans are managed by Mike Friday who once coached Kenya Sevens.

Some Kenyans called for his reinstatement.

Others wanted former successful tactician Benjamin Ayimba.

The national team is currently managed by Innocent Simiyu who has little to show for his time with the team.

Shujaa will face Wales next today at 7:10pm. This is the last leg of the 2016/17 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series. Kenya is placed 12th with 58 points with South Africa first with 179 points.
