Kasavuli quits Leopards’ chairmanship

AFC Leopards Chairman Allan Kasavuli has resigned and a caretaker committee led by Nairobi County speaker Alex Ole Magelo handed the responsibility of running the Kenyan Premier League club.

“Finally Kasavuli amestep aside (has stepped aside). Seriously,” a text from one of the club’s senior players sent to Nairobi News read.

However, Kasavuli has failed to confirm or deny this allegations as calls made to his known telephone numbers went unanswered.

Another senior member of the club’s national executive committee, organizing secretary Timothy Lilumbi denied any knowledge of the news.

“Am out of town and not aware of what you are telling me. In any case if the Chairman has resigned, that is his personal decision. I was elected by a majority of the club supporters and intend to finish the remainder of my term in office,” Lilumbi said.

This development comes in the wake of a series of a spate of financial challenges that the club has been facing in the past few months, that have since threatened to cripple the administrative operations of the KPL outfit.
