Croatian coach Logarusic demanding Sh3.6m from Tanzanian club

Former Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards coach Zdravko Logarusic is demanding Sh3.6 million from Tanzanian club Simba SC for breach of contract.

Should the Simba fail to comply, the coach insists that he will take the club before the Fifa Players Status Committee to resolve this stalemate.

In his demand letter sent to Simba SC earlier this week and seen by Nairobi News, Logarusic states that in 2014 the Msimbazi Street based club unprocedurally terminated his year long contract at the club which is valued at $36,000 (Sh 3,600,000).

Interestingly, the demand letter to Simba of which Mwanaspoti has a copy, was penned by Nairobi based legal firm Wambilianga, Majani & Co Associates, the same legal entity that helped former Kenyan defender Donald Mosoti receive a Sh3 million compensation fee from Simba courtesy of a Fifa ruling earlier this year.

COMPENSATION

“Take further notice in the event we are forced to file our suit at the Fifa Players Status Committee, we will, in addition to unpaid salary and damage also request interest and a sanction to be imposed on the club pursuant Article 12b,” the demand letter reads in part.

Logarusic, whose most recent posting was at Angolan club Inter Clube, is also claiming compensation for termination of contract, internet/transport allowances plus general damages from the Tanzanian club.

If found guilty of breaching a professional contract, Simba could, at worst, be ordered to pay the coach, fined separately by Fifa and even banned from signing players for a specified period.

The same threat had been issued by Fifa during the Mosoti case, which dragged on for close to three years.
