South African club Amazulu seeking Paul Were’s return

South African football club Amazulu FC has sought to hand Kenyan star striker Paul Were another chance at the club in the wake of the forward’s impressive performance for the national team over the weekend.

The left footed forward was released by the relegated South African club at the end of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) season after managing only five league starts out of  30 matches.

The former AFC Leopards player has since been linked to among other clubs KPL runaway leaders Gor Mahia.

His standout performances and well taken individual goal for Harambee Stars in the 1-1 stalemate against the Republic of Congo on Sunday has however aroused more interest in the player’s services.

“He has received a couple of calls from clubs in South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia… Including Amazulu, they want him back,” a source close to the player told Nairobi News.

He added: “So we will study all the options on the table very keenly and come up with the best possible project for the player”

Stars arrived back in the country on Tuesday morning from Owando, Congo.
