Sonko spends millions to publicize Rescue Team’s achievement
Having spent millions of shillings to set up a project which offers an array of free services to the common mwananchi, Nairobi Senator Mike ‘Sonko’ Mbuvi has now moved a step further and allocated a substantial amount of money towards publicizing the project.
The services offered by the politicians team of workers and equipment dubbed ‘Sonko Rescue Team’ has attending to the needs of city residents without asking for payment.
From the fleet of ambulances, limousines and hearses available plus a sizable work force, to execute this mission, Nairobians have had access to these essential services at no cost.
Not even a warning from the leadership of the Nairobi County Government in which he is a senior member, nor claims that some of these vehicles have been ferrying around contraband have waned the politician’s zeal.
MEDIA ADVERTISING SPACE
And now, Sonko seems eager to share his achievements with the whole world, or whoever cares to watch and listen.
Over the past month, the former Madaraka MP has bought tens of millions worth of media airtime (in cash), which he has since used to advertise the work done by the Sonko Rescue Team.
In the past two weeks alone, national TV stations NTV, KTN and K24 have aired documentaries highlighting the “work done by the rescue team”.
This is in addition to the acres of print media advertising space dedicated to the same, alongside a fully fledged website and other YouTube messages.
Word on the street is that the politician is using this platform to begin his campaigns in earnest, ahead of the 2017 General Election in which he is rumuored to be eyeing the Nairobi Gubanatorial seat.
