Sonko now lays claims to Outer Ring Road upgrade
Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Mike Sonko over the weekend said he plans to oversee more development projects such as the Outer Ring Road which he claimed to have started as MP.
Kenya Urban Roads Authority had advertised for bids in October 2013 and in January 2015, President Uhuru Kenyatta officially launched the road’s upgrade.
The upgraded road that starts from the General Service Unit headquarters on Thika Road (Allsops) and ends at the Taj Shopping Mall on the Eastern bypass is nearing completion.
Photos of its progress have lately been shared online with users admiring the project.
Sonko’s claim to the Africa Development Bank funded project that was initiated to ease traffic in the city received varied reactions online.
