Sonko splashes millions during prime time TV


Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, who seeking to become the capital city’s next governor, on Tuesday night splashed out the cash for the broadcast a campaign documentary on four major TV channels.

The senator, who is known for his flamboyant lifestyle, took the airwaves of the stations between 10pm and 11pm which are considered prime time and some of the most expensive time slots to buy on TV.

He aired a documentary simply called Mike Sonko Documentary in which he sold his policies and showcased his achievement since he was elected as a senator.

STIFF COMPETITION

Nairobi News cannot give the exact amount of money the senator paid to the TV station to have his documentary aired because the rates vary from station to station.

The senator is facing stiff competition from Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth in the ongoing Jubilee Party primaries in Nairobi which kicked off early on Wednesday morning.

Whoever wins will the primaries will face the current Nairobi governor Evans Kidero who was given a direct nomination by ODM for the August 8, general elections.
