Sofapaka to pocket Sh1million from Betika if they beat Sharks

Sofapaka will pocket Sh1 million as a reward from their sponsors Betika if they Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday in the final of the SportPesa Shield.

Other than the handsome cash reward, victory for Sofapaka in the match to be played at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani will also hand them a ticket to represent Kenya in the Caf Confederation Cup next year.

Sofapaka signed a three-year deal with gaming firm two years ago, a partnership that Sofapaka FC President Elly Kalekwa said helped stabilize the club financially.

NEW SIGNINGS

“We play in the final of the FKF Cup so our main focus is to win the trophy. Thereafter, we hope to complete new signings to boost our team before the new season commences. My players are motivated by the final given they did not win the league.” Kalekwa said.

Speaking to journalists during the unveiling of millionaire winners at the company’s premises on Friday, Betika Head of Commercial, Stanley Mwangi, praised Sofapaka for reaching the final adding that Batoto Ba Mungu’s success resonates with Betika’s mantra of Jukwaa La Mabingwa.

“We wish Sofapaka the best in tomorrow’s final and also congratulate our two Millionaire winners Shako (Japhet) and Mugo (Peter) whom we unveiled here today. With Betika, gamers can be sure of first class experience,” Mwangi said.

Japhet Shako won Sh1,266,385.79 after placing a Sh100 bob bet while Peter Mugo walked home with Sh856,143.48 for placing a Sh55 bob stake on pre-match games on Betika.com.
