Six Alliance High School students charged with assault in bullying saga


The heart rending tales of bullying at Alliance High School have finally led to the arrest and prosecution of six Form Four students.

The six were arraigned in at a Kiambu court on Friday and charged with assaulting a Form One student .

They are said to have caused bodily harm to the victim.

An age assessment report presented before Kikuyu resident magistrate Daniel Musyoka indicated five of the suspects are 17 years-old – legally underage.

The sixth suspect is 18 years-old.

Magistrate Musyoka released the six on a cash bail of Sh20,000 each.

This comes a day after Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i had promised that action would be taken againt those said to have tortured students at the school.

The CS assured parents that his ministry will end bullying and mistreatment of students in all schools through implementation of policy guidelines.
