Seven cheap skin care tips that will make your face glow
Every skin deserves pampering. The facials can be very costly, but here are some cheap, home care remedies that can give you a glowing face.
1. Get enough sleep
Doctors recommend at least 8 hours of sleep. Dermatologists call it beauty sleep. Ensure you get eight hours of uninterrupted sleep every once in a while. Sleep early for the days you intend to get the hours. Ensure you remove your make-up and mosturise the skin before your beauty sleep.
2. Tumeric mask
Make a paste of turmeric powder, which is cheaply available in supermarkets, with lemon juice. Apply the paste on your face and allow it to dry. Wash it off with cold water. Note that too much turmeric will make your face yellow so be cautious.
3. Tomato rub
Two slices of tomatoes will go a long way in brightening up your skin. Use the slices to rub your face as the vegetable has natural skin lightening properties.
4. Flour scrub
Maize flour makes the cheapest yet effective scrub for your face. Mix a bit of your flour with some lemon juice or even water and use the paste to scrub your face gently as you wait to see the glow. Go easy on the lemon juice if you have acne as it can get stingy.
5. Drink more water
This has been emphasized time and again and indeed drinking more water can make your face glow like never before. Try increasing your water intake to a litre then two and later three litres every day and notice the change. The bathroom breaks will decrease as the body gets accustomed to the change of intake.
6. Honey mask
Applying honey to your face will not only help relax it but also works to reduce acne. Honey has anti-inflammatory properties that help with the swelling caused by acne.
7. Sugar and lemon scrub
This scrub reduces the tan caused by over exposure to the sun. Mixing sugar and lemon juice and gently scrubbing the tanned areas will help your skin glow.
