Second Uber taxi torched by suspected rival drivers
An Uber taxi was torched by attackers in Riruta Satellite early Wednesday morning.
Police say the taxi was hailed by a man at Yaya Centre and told the driver that he needed to pick his girlfriend from Naivasha Road.
“On reaching Satellite, he asked him to stop so that he could relieve himself but on doing so, four men emerged and set the car ablaze,” Dagoretti OCPD Rashid Mohammed said.
He said the driver managed to escape when he noticed the intentions of the five men.
“He escaped unhurt and he is helping us with investigations”Mr Rashid said.
The incident comes barely a month after another taxi operated by Uber was set ablaze in Kilimani.
