Sauti Sol show Mombasa event organizers how to stage a great show

The successful Sauti Sol’s Live and Die in Africa tour in Mombasa may just be the antidote that the coastal city needs to break the bad spell in hosting major music shows.

Mombasa has been crippled by shoddy event organizers who have botched various music concerts and killed the morale of music lovers.

However, last weekend’s show by Sauti Sol at Mombasa Sports Club saw the return of fans to music events and the boy band did not disappoint.

“For once in a very long time Mombasa people came out in large numbers to a concert. This goes to show that they still believe that good shows can happen in Mombasa.

“We have had our share of promoters and organizers organizing a gig that later gets botched and the fans end up disappointed. I hope this will be the beginning to so many other successful events in Mombasa,” said Hassan Feisal Mombasa, a showbiz guru and filmmaker

Sauti Sol’s show was curtain-raised by a few Mombasa artistes, with hype man DNG as the MC.

At exactly midnight the boy band took the stage and performed song afetr song with no breaks till 2am.

In the middle of their performance, they went topless, making the crowd go wild. A girl in the crowd even begged band member Savarra to marry her.
