Kenya’s boy-band Sauti Sol were magnanimous even after failing to win at the BET Awards held in the US on Sunday evening.

The group sent congratulatory messages to Ghana’s Stonebwoy who scooped the BET AWARDS 2015 Best International Act – Africa.

“Join us in congratulating Ghana!! @stonebwoyb winner BET AWARDS 2015 Best International Act – Africa. Thank You God for bringing us this far!! More to come!! #AfricaRising,” wrote Sauti Sol on Instagram.

“GHANA WON!! Dedicate This To The Whole Ghana My Fans (BhimNation) Not Forgetting The Flood Victims.. Thank You God!!” tweeted Stonebwoy.

Besides Stonebwoy, Sauti Sol were nominated alongside AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sarkodie (Ghana), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria).

In the awards, Nicki Minaj won two awards for ‘Best Female Hip-Hop Artist’ and ‘Viewers’ Choice Award’ with ‘Only’, while Chris Brown walked away with the ‘Fandamoinum’ Award.

He was also crowned ‘Best Male R&B/Pop Artist’ during the show.

This year’s event saw live performances from P Diddy, Alicia Keys, Jason Derulo, Ciara, and winners Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj.

The show will be screened Tuesday night across Africa.
