Samsung Note 8 finally hits the Kenyan market

Samsung Note 8 device has been launched in Nairobi, two months after its worldwide launch, as a successor to the discontinued Galaxy Note 7.

A key feature of the of the premium Smartphone, which will be retailing at Sh104,999, is the dual lens camera, which puts it in direct competition with Apple’s iPhone 7 plus that has a similar rear camera feature.

Both the rear cameras of Galaxy Note 8 are equipped with optical image stabilisation with live focus and dual capture.

“Diverse and demanding tasks are being done on smartphones, with the ability to effectively multitask on a single device becoming an essential requirement. The Galaxy Note 8 offers this convenience,” said Head of Mobile Division Bob Asiyo.

The Note 8 device has a Samsung DeX which enables users to connect to a larger display unit, a keyboard and mouse, turning the device into a PC.

Users can shop, search for images and get details about nearby places with the Bixby’s image recognition technology.

The device also packs 6GB of RAM and is powered by an advanced 10nm processor and 64GB internal memory.

Samsung’s Note edition hit the market in 2011, releasing Smartphones that build on each other’s functionality.
